Connectivity and distance helper

The connectivity and distance helper collects Dholera's documented distances and travel links in one place, the expressway to Ahmedabad, the airport, the planned rail and nearby landmarks such as Lothal. It uses only sourced figures and keeps reported and target labels.

01

What the helper does

The connectivity and distance helper answers the practical question of how Dholera connects to the places around it, using only the distances and links recorded in the fact base. It brings together the key figures, Dholera sits about 100 km southwest of Ahmedabad, linked by the roughly 109 km Ahmedabad to Dholera expressway, which was reported inaugurated on 31 Mar 2026 and cuts travel time to around 40 minutes to an hour depending on the source. The Dholera International Airport is about 20 km from the SIR (Special Investment Region, a state-notified industrial zone that gets its own planning authority) and about 80 km from Ahmedabad. Lothal, the ancient Indus Valley dock site, is commonly cited about 36 km away. The Ahmedabad to Dholera semi-high-speed rail, cleared on 13 May 2026, is about 134 km and targeted for completion up to 2030-31.

02

How to use it

Use the helper to look up a specific link, such as the drive from Ahmedabad or the distance to the airport, or to get an overall picture of how the city is positioned. Each figure carries its status, so you can tell a confirmed operational link, like the expressway, from a target, like the rail completion date or the airport opening, which remains targeted for September to October 2026 after the first trial landing on 4 Jun 2026. Where sources disagree, the helper shows the range rather than picking one number, for example the expressway lane count is reported as 4-lane expandable to 8 in most sources while an NICDC (the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation, the central agency behind the corridor) document describes it as 6-lane, a discrepancy left flagged for you to verify against the as-built road.

03

Why this matters

Connectivity is one of the most cited reasons for interest in Dholera, so it is also an area where marketing can outrun reality. By keeping every distance and travel-time figure tied to a source and a status label, the helper lets you plan around what is actually operational today while seeing clearly which links are still targets. It pairs naturally with the timeline, which shows when each connection was delivered or is expected.
