What GUJRERA is

GUJRERA, the Gujarat Real Estate Regulatory Authority, is the state body that regulates real estate under the national Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, known as RERA. Its portal is gujrera.gujarat.gov.in. Under the law, real estate projects, including plotted developments of the kind common around Dholera, must register with the authority before they can legally be advertised or sold. Registration brings a project into a regulated framework with disclosure obligations and a public registration number that a buyer can check.

Why GUJRERA matters

For a Dholera buyer, verifying a project's GUJRERA registration number and status before paying any money is a basic protection. Unregistered or non-RERA projects are a documented red flag. The registration record lets a buyer confirm that the project legally exists and is permitted to be marketed. A practical caution from the fact base is that the live GUJRERA registry is form-gated and does not expose data cleanly to the open web, so many figures circulating on broker aggregator sites are not authoritative. The correct step is to check the official portal directly rather than trusting a third-party count or claim about a project's status.
