Rather than spreading industry thinly, the corridor strategy places these nodes where they can draw on the dedicated freight railway and on planned connectivity such as expressways and airports. Each node is developed with trunk infrastructure, serviced industrial land and, in the larger cases, full city plans with residential and commercial zones. The nodes are the places where the corridor's abstract logistics advantage becomes a physical destination for factories and workers. How nodes connect to the wider programme
The nodes are coordinated by the central nodal agency, NICDC (the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation, the central agency behind the corridor), formerly DMICDC, which handles planning, funding and monitoring across the corridor.
